“For it is in giving that we receive.”
― Francis of Assisi
There are so many generous people doing wonderful things, things we do not hear about in the news. The intent of my blog is to share positive tools i use in my life that hopefully will assist others to live a life of abundance. When I received our monthly newsletter from Christian Brothers I was so overwhelmed by the generosity of the Cvitanovich family I felt compelled to do a posting to let all of my readers know what great things people are doing to help others. We personally have participated in this event for the past four years and enjoyed a fantastic meal. Whatever we spend for the meal is matched by Drago's and the total donated to Christian Brothers. To quote from the newsletter:
"Drago's Restaurant Fundraiser Nets $53,000 for Christian Brothers School
Approximately 700 people were served at the CBS Afternoon at Drago's on August 21, generating receipts of about $26,500! With that amount being matched, it meant about $53,000 for the school. Special thanks are due to the Cvitanovich family and their staff for their time and generosity."
This large donation is beyond the capability of most of us individually but the mindset of generosity is possible everyday for all of us. Last week I was at the dollar store to get balloons. The lady in front of me had two items and was behind a lady with a basket full of party supplies. She turned around and told the lady to go ahead in front of her. The lady thanked her, made her $2 purchase, gave the cashier a $10 bill and told her to apply the change to the lady's bill who just let me get in front of her; another moving experience of generosity!
