Water flows because it's willing.” -- Marty Rubin Every morning I read several inspirational blogs that I subscribe too. When I finished writing for my posting for today I opened up Fr. Richard Rohr’s daily email newsletter. I had to take a second look because his key words for today’s message are much like mine. Let the Flow Happen Friday, September 23, 2016 Think of your own experience: how many people do you know, including yourself, who are really in this divine dance with an appropriate and balanced degree of self-love and self-giving? It is the very definition of psychological maturity. Even so, we all make a lot of missteps as we learn the dance. When I make a change that requires me to implement a new discipline I need to see a result, tangible evidence of even a small success, to encourage me to continue. Sometimes I may even try to force things to happen. When those futile efforts fail I get very discouraged. This week I decided that I would go with the flow by doing my usual daily disciplines BUT I would release all expectations. It worked! I received many positive confirmations. Below are listed the five tools I use consistently from my personal tool box and what unfolded by using them. Grateful Journal As I was writing in my grateful journal a tremendous sense of peace came over me. It was truly powerful. I had to stop writing and be still. It stirred up so much emotion in me tears of joy started flowing. I felt blessed and very appreciative of this wonderful habit I have developed from years of beginning my day by writing everything I am grateful for before allowing any outside distractions to enter my mind and my day. Prosperity Budget Today I spent a lot of time in my office posting and balancing my prosperity budget. Typically by the end of every month we have spent most of the money that is posted in each item of the budget. I noticed that one area actually had extra money left in it which is quite unusual. This situation created an easy transition into the next thing that happened. Affirmations Earlier this week I went to a Neuro Massage Therapist who does cranial sacral and Rolfing body work. His office is a three-hour round trip drive from my house. My regular massage therapist from New Orleans offered to go with me to observe the treatment. This was agreeable to the therapist because he had given a class to my therapist for continuing education credits. The therapist was very helpful with pain and discomfort I experience when sitting. He suggested I follow up with four additional visits. Two issues made those suggestions very unattractive to me, the distance to his studio and the cost of the sessions. This morning I wrote the affirmation “I am attracting an easy flow of abundance.” I realized the additional money I had in the budget would cover the cost of the therapy sessions but the travel time was still an issue. Then, surprisingly my local massage therapist called and offered to work with me using the same techniques he had observed that had worked and given me relief. Dream Board Later in the day I just happened to look at my Dream Board and saw a posting I did not remember was there. When I started Positive Pops this year I posted, “I will have 1000+ readers of my blog each week.” I checked the weekly report I receive about the number of visitors to my website and week to date 1200 people read my last posting. Inspirational Books When I developed the pain in my sit bone I quickly took the book “Heal Your Body” by Louise Hay from my bookshelves. This little book lists body parts and then gives the issues that are most likely causing the illness or pain in that area. She says "Both the good in our lives and the dis-ease are the results of mental thought patterns which are from our experiences. For example, I could not understand why I repeatedly had problems with a stiff neck. Then I discovered that the neck represents being flexible on issues, being willing to see different sides of a question. I had been a very inflexible person, often refusing to listen to another side of a question out of fear. But, as I became more flexible in my thinking and able, with a loving understanding, to see another's viewpoint, my neck ceased to bother me". I looked up my issue and here’s what the book says “sitting on old pain.” I could not connect with this at all. A strange thing happened the day after visiting with the therapist. Emotional pain surfaced from a disappointment years ago when I did not get financial recognition for a successful marketing campaign I had initiated that received national attention. I had no idea I was still sitting on that pain. Now that my faith has once again been renewed that what I do works in my own life I can tell you with confidence that it is worth your investment of time to consider choosing a few of my suggestions from my toolbox. Practice using them for the next 90 days and let me hear about your successes, big and small. Don't force anything to happen. Just go with the flow.
