Welcome back to the routines of daily life and fully scheduled days. Many of the good intentions we had in the holiday mindset are now taking a back seat. However we do not want to become discouraged and lose the momentum of this fresh start of a new year!

I have long anticipated the year 2017 in which we will celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary. Overall I truly enjoy planning different activities for us and our family to enjoy. However, one of the things that tops them all is planning for a trip. It is as much fun as the trip itself as I research the destination focusing on the highlights and excursions. This builds such a sense of anticipation and excitement.

Doing this same thing with what you would like to bring into your life by year end will get you to your destination in spite of detours that may disrupt or delay success. Lay the groundwork, explore the possibilities. Our 2016 Dream Board postings that we would create the financial abundance for a month-long European trip and a family vacation at the beach to celebrate our 50th Anniversary are now realities for 2017. In January of last year I worked on a roadmap and created a budget to make it happen.

I realize this is huge and there were many times in our early years of marriage that we could only afford spending a weekend at a hotel in our own city. But in spite of how small each accomplishment was then this type of success story encouraged me to dream big and work out a plan to make those dreams happen. Scarcity thinking without a plan to change our mindset keeps us confined and unable to create anything different or expansive.

My intense curiosity motivates me to subscribe to many newsletters on various different topics. I personally do not delve deep into numerology but I read that last year was the end of a 9-year cycle which energetically brought about endings in our lives. This year is a 1 year offering new beginnings. I am amazed to see this already happening in my life. It happened yesterday when my wife visited a new doctor. He was absolutely amazing. The first question he asked was "how much time do you have for me to talk with you." He answered every question, listened actively and gave us such a better understanding of what she is dealing with, and surprisingly respected our approach to wellness regarding alternative solutions.

Also, within the first few days of this year a Marriage Celebration event our team has been working on for months, to celebrate the 2017 years of marriage of those attending, has come together beautifully with all details falling into place.

This Christmas our children gave me a kid’s book as a gift entitled
What Do You Do With An Idea? by Kobe Yamada. A simple thing like a children's book can open our eyes to help us realize life is not complicated unless we make it so. We just need to move forward with our dreams and believe in the possibilities to achieve our goals. One quote from this book from the author to his children "Always remember a single idea can change everything."

You have everything going in your favor to take the first step this weekend to work on your roadmap of plans to make 2017 the best year ever!
