The future depends on what you do today.” Mahatma Gandhi I realize I am sometimes extreme in my refusal to allow negative news or conversations to interfere with my focus on staying positive. My mind instinctively searches my positive resources to find something to counteract this negativity. If I spend 30 minutes looking at the news I will spend an equal amount of time searching for a different prospective. That is the reason I subscribe to many newsletters and blogs that offer hope for a brighter future in spite of the times we are living in. Last night we participated in a teleconference titled Worry Wart given by Mary Jo McCabe, a Spiritual Intuitive who is also our good friend. Mary Jo Macabe Web Site. Understandably so, this topic attracted much interest. The current news has many people living in anxiety, fear and concern. In addition to the valuable information given she suggested that the following words “God take care of that” said throughout the day or when awakened at night could give us all much peace. The following supports my need to have varied resources to obtain information that offers hope. My daily newsletter from Fr. Richard Rohr was the first email I read this morning. The following is the first paragraph of that newsletter: The Pattern of Evolution Thursday, November 3, 2016 “There is no doubt that history goes three steps forward and two steps backward, but thank God there always seems to be a net gain. Even though we continue to see war, racism, classism, genocide, and ignorance, violence is actually declining. We may be more aware of the world’s suffering now than ever before, but as compared with previous periods in history, we are living in a relatively peaceful time.” At the end of this newsletter he offers references that greatly support this statement that we are not living in the worst times in history. You can click on the website to read some very interesting information. I just finished reading the book by Fr. Richard Rohr with Mike Morrell book The Divine Dance. To Order Click Here The only disappointment I found in the entire book is that it came to an end. It truly offers groundbreaking information to offer hope for the future. My wife and I will be seeking one or two couples to join us in continual discussion of the information talked about in the book. Once you read the book you may want to consider doing the same thing. Please note that I do not receive compensation from any of my recommendations of books, workshops or events. I pass this on to my readers because I believe it is of value to make an investment in our personal growth. I also believe that resources like this can be discussed in small gatherings of family and friends as we all strive to create hope for a bright and prosperous future.
